REFERENDUM PASSES!

Tears of joy were shed Election night, November 6, as Officers and Board members of GAF watched election results came in at Groton’s Town Hall Annex around 10:30pm.  The Question on the rebuilding of our Animal Control Facility was passed 3,074 to 2,288.  Vice-President Ted Frase was quoted as saying, “The bottom line is that there will be a new shelter for the animals.”; and Director Jane Cofone said, “It’s a wonderful thing we’ve accomplished.”

Many thanks go out to all the Groton residents who voted, and all those who worked to get the question placed on the ballot!

GAF is also pleased to announce that we have recently received three grants:  $2,000 from the Connecticut Dept. of Agriculture for the spaying and neutering of feral cats, $500 from Petco, and $1,000 from Walmart.
